Fundraising and Special Events Policy of the Bridging People and Places Board of Directors

Fundraising events must be commensurate with the mission statement and strategic plan of the corporation.  Maintaining the mission and integrity of Bridging People and Places is more important than indiscriminately raising funds.

Mission Statement

The mission of Bridging People and Places is to bring organizations, corporations, communities and individuals of all ages and backgrounds together for the purpose of making a difference in the lives of others. The corporation is built on the foundation of volunteering and giving with compassion and kindness to those in need of help and healing.

Events Require Board of Directors Approval

The Executive Committee of the Board Of Directors will review and approve each special event and fundraiser prior to its implementation.

Approved activities will meet the following criteria:

Be consistent with our mission and appropriate to the attainment of our goals

bullet

Provide immediate and direct support to a specific activity or project

bullet

Will not involve significant amounts of time or money from Bridging People and Places

bullet

Will follow the Fundraiser and Special Events Guidelines

Fundraiser and Special Event Guidelines

Fundraisers and event organizers will cover fundraising and event expenses.  Expenses will not be covered by proceeds of the event.

In the event that resources are required from Bridging People and Places:

An expense budget must be submitted to and approved by the Executive Committee.

When an event is not 100% underwritten, the expense budget must include the estimated amount of money to be raised.

bullet

The percentage that will go to Bridging People and Places must be clearly identified in all promotional material.

bullet

Expenses should not exceed 10% of the total proceeds of the event.

All promotional materials associated with the fundraiser or the event must be pre-approved by the Executive Committee of Bridging People and Places.

The event organizer is responsible for filing any necessary fund raising permits, providing insurance coverage, and listing Bridging People and Places, Inc. as an additional insured for the event.  Copies of such must be sent to Bridging People and Places.

All checks should be made payable to "Bridging People and Places, Inc."
