How You Can Help: VOLUNTEER ~ FUNDRAISE ~ DONATE ~ GIVE a PRODUCT or SERVICE
When people share their stories about their reasons for volunteering and what it has meant to them, they often inspire others. Many of these stories are fascinating, interesting, heart warming, touching, and they are all meaningful.
Each of us has a different reason for making the decision to volunteer our time.
Some are based on personal experiences such as:
an inner need to repay the community for a good deed that was done for them
a need to heal an old wound
a need to bring closure to the loss of a loved one
a need to get beyond a personal barrier or limitation |
Some reasons come out of a philanthropic desire to give to or help others.
Some come from a deep desire to have more of a sense of purpose in their life.
Some relate to transitions in life (retirement or the last child leaving the home) and the need to do something different.
And some are based on what the volunteer receives in return:
a sense of satisfaction
a sense of greater self-worth
a sense of fulfillment or accomplishment
a feeling of joy |
Whatever your reasons for volunteering your time and energies and/or donating your money, products, or services, we invite you to share them with us. If you approve (and only if you approve), we would like to also share your reasons with others via this Web site. Please contact us via e-mail or regular mail to tell us your story. Thank you sincerely for volunteering and/or donating, and for sharing your story with us.
