How You Can Help: VOLUNTEER ~ FUNDRAISE ~ DONATE ~ GIVE a PRODUCT or SERVICE
Bridging People and Places gives away Bear Hugs each year to individuals who experience personal crisis, the loss of a loved one, or encounter a serious life threatening disease.
A Thank You Note We received the following note in response to sending "Bear Hugs" to 11 children whose dads were killed or critically injured in a helicopter rescue mission, "Thank you so much for the wonderful bears. They are absolutely darling and the children are going to love them. It brought us joy even in the office to choose which one should go to each child. They are so special. Please accept our sincerest thanks for this act of kindness."
Elicia Spagnola of Hagaman, New York writes, "Talk about Bridging People and Places... a warm golden bear, in an adorable hat and sweater made by strangers in a loving act of kindness, finds its way into my hands. The bear is hugged by many members of the New York arm of our family... and then sent to a beloved family member living in New Jersey who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. With the family unable to be with her on a daily basis, the positive energy of our love and prayers is now ever present in a soft plushy "Bear Hug." What a beautiful gift, not only for the receiver, but for the givers as well."
We also receive many orders for "Bear Hugs" to be sent to a friend or relative they think would benefit from a message of loving kindness in the form of teddy bear filled with love. These bears are often sent with an additional healing message from the person who purchased the bear.
